Dir: Ken Loach (UK 2012. Time 101mins) with Roger Allam, John Henshaw & Daniel Portman
Narrowly avoiding jail, new dad Robbie vows to turn over a new leaf. A visit to a whisky distillery inspires him and his mates to seek a way out of their hopeless lives.

Thursday 9th & Saturday 11th August at 7.30pm
Prior to the screening on Saturday 11th August we will be showing Nicotine Love.
Nicotine Love is a 10-minute short film that could be described as an experimental melodrama.
The film takes influences from two of melodrama’s most acclaimed directors; Douglas Sirk and Rainer Werner Fassbinder, to create two contrasting styles that will highlight the change in Angela’s character as she stops using nicotine patches and Eric loses control over her.
A third, very experimental style of filmmaking will then be implemented to represent the disturbing ending that occurs after Eric’s plan to revert Angela to a submissive housewife backfires with extreme consequences.
