An Award Winning Venue
Since it opened in 2005, Artrix has changed the landscape of artistic provision in Bromsgrove and the surrounding areas. It is an award-winning arts centre (What's On Worcestershire Readers' Award for Best Small Venue in Worcestershire 2016) with an outstanding programme of theatre, dance, cinema, live music, comedy and arts skills workshops which serve all sections of the community. It also provides a performance space for schools, colleges, societies and groups. The main auditorium seats 300 and the Studio, which is used for workshops and acoustic performances, seats 10-90
The quality and range of Artrix’ programme is exceptional for a 300 seat venue. Artrix is a popular spot for the comedy warm up circuit with comedians such as Lee Evans and Alan Carr and with musicians including Julian Lloyd Webber.
Artrix welcomes everyone, especially those who may find it hard to access the arts. Our programme includes matinee film screenings, as well as easy access screenings for people with disabilities and young people in care, their friends, families and carers.
To date our Learning and Engagement programme has engaged over 10,000 young people with an array of exciting creative arts projects including initiatives delivered in partnership with Bromsgrove District Council, Worcestershire County Council and the West Midlands Police Service.
Artrix is registered both as a charity (No. 1124900) and non-profit distributing limited company (No. 5455644). Despite the challenging economic circumstances over the past few years the venue has continued to thrive and it its ten year history has attracted over 600,000 visitors.
