OSJ presents Beethoven's Choral Fantasy

OSJ presents Beethoven's Choral Fantasy

At St. John's Church.

The Orchestra of St John with the Orchestra of St John Chorus; Ben Frith – Piano; and Richard Jenkinson – Conductor

The Orchestra of St John performs at least one programme of choral music each year to showcase our wonderful Chorus, based around the St John’s Church Choir. This year we bring together pianist Ben Frith with the Chorus to perform Beethoven’s exhilarating Choral Fantasy which concludes with the theme he used for the famous ‘Ode to Joy’, the pinnacle of his Ninth Symphony. Wrapped around this will be Constant Lambert’s quirky ‘Rio Grande’ for Piano, Chorus and Orchestra, Beethoven’s Second Piano concerto and his Eighth Symphony to make a truly exhilarating evening’s entertainment!
