Paul Morton: Spitfire
A premier of original piano pieces composed and performed by Paul Morton set to the back drop of visual media
Paul is a local composer and previous graduate of the Birmingham Conservatoire. Birmingham born, Paul has used his experience and love for the people of the city to produce works such as Birmingham Rhapsody, Fight at a Wedding and Peaky Blinder. As a son of a building family, Paul is a gifted carpenter and has some unique approaches to his piano works. Audiences may be surprised by the presence a pneumatic piano stool and Makita drill during the performance.
Paul's compositions draw on influences from classical, gospel, blues and film music. Although he will be putting the house grand piano through its paces, he will also be using synthesizers to add a contemporary twist to the evening.
Reflecting both humour and history, with the title piece Spitfire, it promises to be an evening of emotion, inspiration and Brummy pride.
