Disorder: Cloud Busting
Cloud Busting by Malorie Blackman & Pressure, Performed by Artrix Youth Theatre Company
Mr. Mackie, asks his class: to write a poem.
Sam wants to write her poem about Daisy.
Daisy, is the new girl. She has holes in her jumper, knots in her hair and strange ideas fill her mind.
Daisy’s way of looking at life is very different, so different not everyone understands, not even Sam, until it’s too late.
Devised entirely by our Junior Youth Theatre Company, Pressure is the story of how our young people feel regarding their lives so far, and the day to day pressures they face. From pesky SATS, nagging parents and life moving in directions they cannot begin to anticipate, Pressure provides a unique insight into the lives of our performers.
Disorder is a young people’s mental health arts festival funded by a National Lottery, Awards for All grant.
Artrix Arts Centre is dedicated to working with local young people to devise, produce and perform work that gives them a voice. We believe passionately that a vital part of our mission is giving young people a space to explore issues that they care about. This May we are proud to present Disorder - a youth mental health arts festival showcasing some of the incredible work that our young participants have created.
