From the 1870s to the modern era, Persepolis director Marjane Satrapi’s Radioactive explores the enduring legacies of one of the most remarkable and consequential scientists of all time, Marie Curie (Rosamund Pike). Falling in love with fellow scientist Pierre Curie (Sam Riley), the couple change the face of science forever with their discovery of radioactivity; which propels them into the international limelight. A bold and visionary depiction of the transformative effects and fallout of the Curies’ work, Radioactive shows how it shaped the defining moments of the 20th century.
