The Real Thing: Feel The Force Tour

The Real Thing: Feel The Force Tour

Following the sad passing of Eddy Amoo his brother Chris and Dave Smith have decided to continue as a duo backed by The Real Thing band

Multi-million selling soul band The Real Thing are  ready to give their much loved disco inspired hits a new lease of life with an extensive UK tour. The band will deliver a funky ‘in your face’ show with a strong ‘retro flavour’ with the band’s classic songs mixed with contemporary grooves.

Celebrating the 40th anniversary of their debut hit single You to Me Are Everything, The Real Thing  boast three million selling hit singles including, Can’t Get by Without You, Whenever You Want My Love and Can You Feel the Force, making them the UK’s best-selling black group of the late 70s.

A statement from Chris Amoo & Dave Smith:

`It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our brother and inspiration, Eddy Amoo, who passed away on 23rd February, age 74.`

Eddy was a showman, a songwriter, and a legend in British music with Liverpudlian band The Real Thing. The band, along with his brother Chris Amoo and friend Dave Smith, formed in the 1970s and have been performing and touring ever since.

Eddy will be remembered for The Real Thing's hit singles You To Me Are Everything, Feel the Force, and Can't Get By Without You, as well as his energetic performances and political commentary with songs such as Children of the Ghetto.

Eddy leaves behind a large and loving family, a community he adored in Toxteth, and his beloved music and band, The Real Thing.

Eddy will long be remembered as a tour de force in British music and he will be sorely missed.
